Ben became an old man for a pug at 14 years. He enjoyed vacations at the shore, especially his naps on the patio set. Ive had Ben my entire adult life after adopting him just before high school graduation. In his younger years Ben loved being in the center of attention, hanging out with me and all of my friends all night. His bond with my mother exams unrivaled by anything else when he realized she spoiled him with treats, affection and unlimited nap time. Ben had his quirks too and a talent for always walking under your feet. I still think it was on purpose. He was a wise old man, you may have thought he wasnt paying attention or listening but he knew what he was doing. He was never one to fetch a ball and always looked at the younger dogs like they were crazy. Ben didnt need to fetch a ball to sit right by the person he loved and get head scratches or belly rubs so why would he run. Ill always remember the phone calls Id get when Ben wandered out of the yard to the local bar or firehouse, pretty sure he was looking for me. I can see his paw prints in the sidewalk on the next street over from one of these adventures as wet cement didnt deter him. Ben Benadryl Franklin was a stubborn, loving old man. Im glad he blessed us for 14 years. Ill miss you bud.
