I adopted my sweet Nara the summer of 2019, while living in Florida. I adopted her sister, as well. Was told they were brother and sister. Happily took them in, since my last fuzzy friend had passed 6 months before. They were my new bouncy, happy friends that I needed. A month later, was giving “him” tummy rubs, and realized, “he’s a girl”! Nara was a big girl, she quickly became my chunky monkey, and started to respond to “Chunk”. She loved rockets, fishing poles, hunting for rubber duckies, and snorkeling in the bathtub. She would shower her human friends with kisses. In 2021, she got a baby sister named Alena to join her and her sister Mara. Nara was so excited. Alena was a tiny 6 week old ferret who was abandoned in a dumpster. She took Alena under her wing, and quickly became her mommy and best friend. Mara is a more relaxed ferret, so Alena was the friend she needed to chase and wrestle with. Two weeks ago, sweet Nara had a seizure. I rubbed syrup on her gums, and brought her out of it. Sadly, Nara had advanced insulinoma. Meds and special food were not enough. Her sisters and human family are heartbroken, but relieved that she lived her life to the fullest up until those last two weeks. She passed peacefully in one of her human’s beds, with her humans giving her love and encouragement. Her sisters are grieving, but glad she is not suffering. See you at the rainbow bridge, my sweet Chunk!
